Baking Soda for Beauty

Photobucket

As many people know there are several household uses for baking soda, but there are some other beauty benefits.  I have been using baking to assist with (1)acne (2)everyday exfoliation and (3) teeth whitening.  I am really liking what it is doing to my skin and of course I love the price.

1. Acne - I have been dealing with break outs for a few years and have tried several products.  I use a mixture of 3 parts baking soda 1 part water and stir into a paste.  Quickly put in on any problem areas as a mask (it dries quickly so make sure not to leave it too long after it is mixed) and let dry from 3 - 10 minutes depending on the size of the area.  It will harden and your skin will feel tight.  Rinse off with luke warm water.  This will help drying out the acne.  If you have sensitive skin or mild acne I would do this only once every few days.  When I have a break out I will do this everyday until all the pimples are dried out.  It usually only takes 2 days.

2. Exfoliating your skin is very important especially if you have problem skin.  I am always looking for something that will help my skin and at a affordable price.  Using 3 parts baking soda and 1 part water I found this.  After you wash your face take a small amount of baking soda and add water.  Use only your finger tips, softly rub into skin in circular motion.  If you feel that you need extra exfoliation do not rub hard, instead making sure you are softly rubbing into skin for at least a minute.

3. Whiting Teeth - I know that you have probably heard this before but baking soda is great to help whiten teeth.  After one week I noticed that my teeth where looking better.  After you rinse your toothbrush dip it in the baking soda and add small amount of toothpaste ( this is to help with taste, if you can handle the baking soda taste skip this).

Well I know that you can find these tips several other places, but i thought I would share what i found that works.  I love that is cost less the $3.00 for a large box of baking soda and you can get so much use out of it.  If you try any of these tips please let me know what you think.  Remember these are all my opinions and this has worked for me.
